Mohamed Hussein, a research associate at SIMAD Institute for Global Health (SIGHt) and a Ph.D. student at Mahidol University, Thailand, recently participated in an intensive weeklong training program at the Taiwan International Healthcare Training Center (TIHTC). This program brought together 7 Ph.D. scholars under the leadership of Prof. Carol from Mahidol University for a hands-on exploration of Taiwan’s healthcare system, digital health innovations, and patient-centered care models.
The training included expert-led lectures on National Health Insurance (NHI), maternal and child health, long-term care, and digital health, complemented by institution visits such as Smart Hospitals, Local Health Centers, Maternity & Children’s Clinics, and Senior Day Care Centers. These experiences provided valuable insights into healthcare policies and practices that can inform global health improvements.
