Leading research on COVID-19 impacts in crisis regions, focusing on WASH, reproductive health, and mortality surveillance.
Population Mortality Estimation in Drought-Affected Somalia
Contributed to a multi-institutional mortality estimation study examining the impact of the 2022–2024 drought on population mortality in Somalia, with a focus on generating evidence to inform humanitarian response, health planning, and resilience-building.
Community-Based Mortality Surveillance in Banadir region, Somalia
This project supports the implementation of community-based mortality surveillance among displaced populations in Banadir Region, with the aim of improving mortality measurement, early detection of excess deaths, and evidence-informed public health response in humanitarian settings.
UKHIH Humanitarian
Developing advanced mortality estimation systems through UK Humanitarian Innovation Hub to enhance crisis response.
